Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: A consistently solid comic book flick, X2: X-Men United mostly improves on its predecessor. The movie packs lively action with an intriguing story to create a vivid and involving experience. The Blu-ray offers excellent sound and a seriously terrific roster of extras but picture quality is only good; the visuals don’t impress as much as I’d expect. Due m

4. Son Of The Mask: New Line Platinum Series (2005)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: For years, fans of The Mask hoped for a sequel. Son of the Mask wasn’t what they wanted. An unfunny, idiotic and pointless collection of insipid gags, it offers absolutely nothing of value. Starring Jamie Kennedy, Alan Cumming. New Line, $27.95, 5/17/2005.

5. Spy Kids [Blu-Ray] (2001)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: Spy Kids is a lot of fun, and I enjoyed it much more than I thought I would. It seemed warm, engaging and surprisingly exciting. The Blu-ray offers good sound and supplements plus inconsistent but acceptable visuals. The picture issues are a little disappointing, but the Blu-ray’s still the best representation of the movie I’ve seen. Starring Alexa Vega,

8. Battle of the Sexes [Blu-Ray] (2017)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: With a strong cast and an intriguing concept at play, Battle of the Sexes should become a winner. However, it commits to too many subjects and can’t flesh out the chosen topics in a deep manner. Starring Emma Stone, Steve Carell. Fox, $34.99, 1/2/2018.

No, it’s not a classic – or even genuinely good, to be honest – but it keeps us reasonably amused much of the time. Starring Hank Azaria, Neil Patrick Harris. Sony, $19.99, 12/2/2011.
